Real Estate World Fair in Asian-Pacific Region - MIPIM ASIA
- MIPIM ASIA is a major event, which main subject is the real estate in Asian-Pacific Region. MIPIM ASIA is a great opportunity to follow development trends of the market of South-East Asia.
- November 19-21, were the dates when MIPIM ASIA took place in Hong Kong. The participants were the key players of real estate world market, whose aim was to learn about new business opportunities and development of partnership in the region.
Among St.Petersburg companies there was the company Maris | Part of the CBRE Affiliate Network and the representatives of city administration.

«All the participants of MIPIM ASIA played a waiting game and don’t consider other regions. Unlike MIPIM in Cannes, the exhibition is oriented at Asian-Pacific Regions.
On this event we were acquainted with up-to-date technological developments in real estate. The most interesting and high-tech project was «Eco-city», developed by Singapore-Chinese architectural and real estate development companies in association with the government of these two countries.
The population of some Chinese cities grows at the speed up to several hundred thousand people per year, that’s why it’s no profitable to use old technologies. «Eco-city» allows saving many resources including energy by using sources of clean energy: up to 20% of all energy is generated onsite: the sun, the wind, the warmth of the land and tide. High technologies will be installed in all the houses of the project: saving the warmth or preventing the insight of the cold as well as water purification system and water recycling. The most important thing is that the movement across the city is thought out: the position of the city allows people to do the shopping and other stuff on foot or by ecological transport which route is thought out as well. All the buildings of the project are developed according to the characteristics corresponding to the western conceptions of «GreenBuilding». It is an ecological building with «friendly» technologies to the nature, consuming fewer resources.
The representatives of eastern regions in Russia agree in opinion that it is good time for buying and construction since here and now the projects, construction materials and workforce becoming cheaper. In particular, there were presented the projects by Krasnoyarsk Territory, which representatives came to seek a construction company. After Olympics in China were finished, there appeared a great number of construction and industrial capacity and they are very interested in getting new contracts and ready to make concessions.
As a whole, unfortunately, we must make a conclusion that within the framework of the exhibition MIPIM ASIA this year, neither of the participants wanted to approach St.Petersburg market, in view of the world crises. But everyone prefers to keep the doors open…
